Why the UW?
“As a former gymnast at the University of Washington, I chose to continue my journey and career here at UW because of the many connections I had made as both a student and an athlete. Washington is my home and being in Seattle and at UW continues to give me that feeling every day. I love that I can be immersed in the fast-paced city life while also being a part of a group of staff that is constantly striving to create, build, encourage, and grow the diversity of this school. As a student athlete here, I had gained many lifelong relationships, skills, and opportunities that many Universities don’t always offer, that will forever carry on with me in the later years of my journey. I had many faculty and staff act as a resource for me when it came to the navigation of college life and all that it has to offer those who attend. Their willingness and guidance along the way as a first-generation graduate is something that I want to be able to offer other students who can identify similarly and/or are looking for or needing help navigating the college life.”
