Application updates
We realize that you may wish to update your application file with new information. We only accept updates for the following items:
- Name
- Date of Birth
- Social Security Number (copy of Social Security card must be faxed to 206.685.3655)
- Requested first and/or second-choice major (request must be received by Jan 15)
- You realize you applied twice.
If you have updates to any of the above items, please contact the Office of Admissions.
Withdrawing your application
If you no longer wish to attend the University of Washington, you may withdraw your application here. By submitting this form, your application will not be considered for admission.
Decision notification
- Autumn: March 1-15
- Winter: November + December
- Spring: not open for freshman admission
- Summer: March 1-15
All decisions are available on MyUW during the notification timeline.
- Admitted students will receive an offer packet in the mail containing an official offer letter with assigned major, possible Purple & Gold scholarship offer (U.S. non-residents only), as well as other information about taking the next steps to becoming a Husky.
- Students invited to the waitlist will see their invitation on MyUW.
- Denied students will see their decision on MyUW.

Need to create your UW NetID?
Applicants, you will be notified via email when you are eligible to set up your UW NetID. It takes up to 24 hours once you’ve created your NetID before you can access your application information.
Tips
- Set your spam filters to accept email from @uw.edu or @u.washington.edu. This will prevent important email from going to your Junk-Mail folder.
- Check your email! Email is the only way we will communicate with you about your application.
- Once invited to set up your UW NetID, manage your email and mailing addresses via MyUW.
