Department admission information

This major is capacity-constrained and admits early autumn and early spring quarters. Meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.
  • A minimum cumulative GPA of at least a 2.5, with a minimum grade of 2.0 in each of the following courses: CSE 142, CSE 143, MATH 124, 125, 126, and one of MATH 307, 308, AMATH 351, 352
  • Transfer students must be enrolled at the UW before applying to the major
  • Students are welcome to meet with an adviser before applying
  • Students must complete an ACMS admissions application through the ACMS website; dates are posted on the ACMS website.
