Office of Admissions

Postbaccalaureate (postbac) is a matriculated status, reserved for students who are working toward a second bachelor’s degree or preparing for entrance to graduate or professional school. Only a small number of applicants are admitted every quarter as postbacs because the UW’s primary commitment is to undergraduates who are completing a first bachelor’s degree.

International Students

Fewer than ten (10) international postbaccalaureate students are admitted each year. Students who have completed or will complete an the equivalent of a four-year bachelor’s degree must apply as postbaccalaureates and not as transfer students.

  • Information. The admission policies and procedures for international applicants are the same as those for U.S. applicants. One difference concerns the application fee.
  • Application. When you are ready to apply for admission, you will be directed to the international application.
  • U.S. or international applicant? If you are unsure whether you are a U.S. or international applicant, review our guidelines.
