The School of Social Work (nationally ranked #2) is seeking individuals who are interested in becoming social change agents in order to tackle complex social problems facing our society. We offer a professional degree with “hands on” training in the field designed to fully prepare you for a job and/or graduate school. Courses required for the major:
- One Psychology course, 100 or 200 level
- One Sociology course, 100 or 200 level
Notes:
- A college-level statistics class is a prerequisite for senior year coursework and is recommended prior to admission. Though, it may be taken during junior year.
- It is helpful, though not required, to complete the foreign language graduation requirement before starting the program.
- Completion of the associate degree does not guarantee completion of the UW general education requirements.
- It is advised that you take these courses before you transfer.
- Students entering the UW must also meet a diversity requirement. These credits simultaneously satisfy other Area of Knowledge requirements and do not add to the total number of
credits you need to graduate. - Many of the general education courses meet the prerequisites for the BASW major above as well as the requirements for an associate degree.
