Hotel accommodations

If you are traveling to Seattle from out of the area, you’ll find many options within walking distance. Many offer a free shuttle to campus.

Getting to campus

  • Directions and tips for arriving by plane, train, bus, car, or light rail.
  • Directions to Schmitz Hall, Office of Admissions.
  • If driving, please plan to arrive early. Please visit the UW Transportation Services website to learn more about parking locations, cost, and public transit.


If you drive, please try to arrive to campus at least 30 minutes before your scheduled visit, to allow time to park and find your way to your destination. When you arrive, please visit one of the gatehouses to purchase a permit. The parking specialist will direct you to a parking lot.

The daily parking fee is $15.00 (cash, debit card, or credit card accepted). For more information, please visit the daily parking page.

We recommend that you become acquainted with campus before you arrive.

  • UW Campus Map.
  • Please note the location of the Husky Union Building (HUB), 4001 E Stevens Way NE, Seattle, WA 98195. This is where you’ll want to head for freshman information sessions, Admitted Student Previews, Transfer Thursday sessions, and campus tours.
  • Residence life tours depart from Lander Hall. The address is 1201 NE Campus Pkwy, Seattle, WA 98105.
  • Gatehouses (at entrances to campus) are marked in aqua on the campus map.

Office of Admissions Hours

The Office of Admissions is open to phone calls Monday – Friday, 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (except university closures).

Weather in Seattle is typically mild. An umbrella or hooded jacket is usually a good idea.

  • During extreme weather conditions, please visit the UW homepage to ensure the campus is open. In the event that campus is closed, visit activities will be cancelled.

  • The campus tour is a walking tour of 0.8 miles (1.29 km).
