SERVICES

Childcare Assistance Program for UW Student Parents
Eligible full-time students may receive financial assistance to purchase services at licensed childcare facilities.

  • Childcare Assistance Applications for 2007-2008 are now available. The deadline for filing a childcare application is May 31, 2007. All applicants must also submit a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) even those who are not seeking financial aid. Applications can be downloaded from the Childcare Assistance website. If you would like additional materials or information, please call 206.543.1041 or email kekelang@u.washington.edu.

UW Technology
UW Technology provides central computing services for the University of Washington including the Internet, email, telephones, television, MyUW, dial-in modems, and UW NetID. Its vision is a university characterized by the excitement of discovery, fueled by exceptional people using exceptional technology.

Disability Resources for Students
The University is committed to ensuring facility and program access to students with either permanent or temporary disabilities through a variety of services and equipment. DSS coordinates academic accommodations for enrolled students with documented disabilities.

Diversity Support Services
These programs offer academic, financial, and social support to current UW students, including mentoring, tutoring, and cultural and recreational opportunities.

HEALTH & SAFETY

  • UW Police Department
    The UW prides itself on its proactive measure to promote campus safety. In fact, the UW Police Department was recently awarded the Jeanne Clery National Safe Campus Award, presented annually to one campus law enforcement agency in the nation. This website describes all the services of the UW Police Department including crime prevention.
  • Health and Safety
    Your Safety. . .Your Health: A Student Guide to Campus Safety and Substance Awareness, is a brochure published by the Office of the Vice Provost for Student Life. It contains information on safety and health issues, commonly abused substances, federal and state drug laws, and crime statistics. The brochure is published annually in accordance with the requirements of the Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act, the federal Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, and laws of the state of Washington.   • Health Center
    The Hall Health Primary Care Center is an outpatient clinic that provides health and medical care to currently enrolled students and their dependents. Services include preventive care, health education, immunizations, diagnosis and treatment of illness or injury, pharmacy services, and mental health care.
  • Immunization
    You must have proof of measles immunization to register for classes.
  • Insurance
    An accident and sickness insurance plan is offered to students and their eligible dependents. You can sign up at the time you register for classes, choosing coverage for a single quarter or the policy year.
  • Student Counseling Center
    Psychologists and counselors provide personal, academic skills, and career counseling for students. The Center also offers workshops on special topics to improve study skills. Individual and group therapies are available to help assure academic success.

Other Services

Tuition Reduction Programs for Veterans and Others
Tuition reductions may be available for veterans, the dependents of deceased or totally disabled veterans, Washington residents who served in the Southeast Asian or Persian Gulf combat zones, children of POWs or MIAs, and nonresident active duty military personnel who are stationed in Washington and their dependents.

Q Center
The Q Center facilitates and enhances an open, safe, inclusive, and celebratory environment for queer and allied students, faculty, and staff at the University of Washington

Women’s Center
Located in the historic Imogen Cunningham Hall, the Women’s Center offers classes, workshops, a resource library, and assistance to the UW community. Its particular mission is to assist returning students, male and female.
