Definitions
Lives Away From Home: All single undergraduate students without dependents (spouse or children) who are living away from parents’ home; undergraduate married students without children, whose spouses are also students.
Non-Traditional: Undergraduates who have children; married undergraduates whose spouses are not also enrolled. Registered same-sex domestic partners may request consideration for additional living costs and will need to provide information about their partner’s financial resources when they make the request.
Tuition and Fees
Figures presented here are for full-time enrollment, i.e., 10-18 credits per quarter. However, for purposes of financial aid eligibility, full-time enrollment is defined as 12 or more credits.
Tuition is due quarterly by Friday of the third week of each quarter.
Residents: $2,268 (autumn quarter) or $2,267 (winter & spring quarters).
Nonresidents: $7,740 (autumn & winter quarters) or $7,739 (spring quarter).
Room and Board
The Office of Student Financial Aid uses the figure of $8,640 in determining students’ financial need. This includes food, utilities, and housing. It is higher than the figure of $7,488 charged by Housing & Food Services (for double-room occupancy and Gold-level dining plan) because it includes the cost of meals not covered in the campus dining plan.
For students living on campus, room and board is paid quarterly. The first payment, approximately $2,500, is due on September 1 for autumn quarter, except for financial aid recipients, who pay after aid is dispersed.
The lifetime earnings of a person with a college degree are on average double those of someone without a degree.
