Don’t wait to be admitted before filing the FAFSA! The priority date for filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is February 28, 2010. Complete the FAFSA and transmit it by February 15 to meet the February 28 deadline.
FAFSA Tips
- In order for your financial aid application to be processed, it is essential that your correct Social Security Number (SSN) is on all financial aid application materials, as well as on your application for admission.
- In filing the FAFSA, use the UW’s Title IV Code, 003798.
Nonmatriculated and Undeclared Postbaccalaureate Students
Financial aid cannot generally be applied toward courses taken through UW Continuing Enrollment such as UW Extension, Online Learning, and Graduate Nonmatriculated. However, nonmatriculated students are eligible for Stafford loans for a maximum of one year. Students must be enrolled for at least 6 credits per quarter and must document that the classes they are taking prepare them for admission to a graduate or undergraduate degree program. The same restrictions apply to postbaccalaureate students who have not yet been accepted into a degree program (Postbaccalaureate Undeclared).
