Italian operas, castle dinners, and hail storms — just another week for me here in Italy. Sounds like a decent living, right? At the end of my last post I alluded to the opera that I was part of the night’s game plan. Though I wouldn’t call myself an opera fanatic (this was my first one; all those symphonies I was forced to go to went to as a child didn’t help), I was excited to see one of Italy’s oldest forms of entertainment. Danny Shelton showed off some Nate Robinson type skills by dominating in his second sport. In the Huskies’ meet against WSU this past weekend, Shelton threw 16.9 meters in his final throw in the shot put to take home the victory.If you remember back to 2002, Robinson starred for the Huskies as a returner and defensive back, and then after the season, joined the basketball squad here at UW and the rest is history as you can see below with Nate Rob’s playoff heroics.
