Three New Venues Coming to Seattle in the New Year

If you’re like me, you have fond memories of playing with LEGOS as a kid. Hours upon hours spent creating fortresses that kept out monsters or making search and rescue helicopters that helped saved your city from the latest natural disaster. These stackable toys are fun, but did you know they also serve an important role at the Burke Museum? Reminiscing aside, LEGOS help our fossil preparators in the Paleontology division make fossil casts.

CoachSark.com was on hand for today’s special occasion as the roof of Husky Stadium was brought down. The morning started at dawn, as administrators and members of the construction team gathered in the Don James Center for a quick briefing on the day’s events. Then we took our positions to capture the action firsthand. There was a lot of waiting around as the crew began this portion of the project. Softball Federation (ISF) Junior Women's World Championship today in
Cape Town, South Africa, with a 4-1 defeat of Japan in the Gold Medal
Game. After a semifinal loss to Japan on Friday, the Americans topped
Chinese Taipei 12-3 in the six inning Bronze Medal Game and then topped
Japan to secure the Gold Medal.
