I was admitted.
Now what?

Congratulations!

Letters of admission have been mailed to the Freshman Class of 2016. If you did not receive notification by now, please contact the Office of Admissions.

May 1, 2012, is the deadline to confirm your intention to enroll at the UW. The Welcome packet includes instructions about paying the $272 New Student Enrollment & Orientation Fee (NSEOF) or requesting a deferral. It is unlikely that students whose confirmations and payments are received after May 1 will be able to enroll at the Seattle campus of the UW.

We realize this is big decision for you. After you receive your letter of admission, you may want to:

  • Get connected with other new freshmen on Facebook: Like the University of Washington Class of 2016.
  • Share your story on tumblr. Use #university of washington and #2016 so others can find you easily.
  • Celebrate!  This is a huge accomplishment. Take a moment to enjoy it. How did you, your family, and friends celebrate with you?
  • Look for the Welcome packet, which also should have arrived by now. The packet will come in a 9 x 12 white envelope and contains everything you will need to become a Husky (confirm your intention to enroll, sign up for required Advising & Orientation, apply for on-campus housing, take placement tests, and more).
International applicants living outside the U.S.: You will receive instructions about how to access an online version of the Welcome, so you don't have to wait for mail delivery.
  • If you haven't done so already, begin exploring the 165 majors offered at the UW. We've organized them into eight categories for you — The Arts, or Math, Computing, and Engineering, etc. — so it's easy to see what interests you. When we ask students why they chose the UW, academic opportunities are always in the top five.
